Direct to Garment Printing

Direct to garment printing is a lot like your standard paper printer. Instead of squeezing ink through a screen onto a garment as you do with screen printing, a direct to garment printer sprays ink onto the garment which then soaks into the fibers of the garment.

The advantages to using a Direct to Garment machine is that it is easier to print photo realistic prints or prints with a lot of colors at an affordable price as you don’t have to pay for all the screens and setup times you would with screen printing. Direct to Garment machines are not limited by print colors. The disadvantage is that there is a slight degradation in print quality compared to screen printing. This is why we use screen printing for everything except when it isn’t financially feasible to do so. Then it makes sense to print using direct to garment.
